Meet the Comedians
HEADLINER: MARK POOLOS
Mark Poolos was born and raised in Edina, Minnesota. To start his career, he co-starred in two independent films: "Attack of the Killer Snow Cone Zombies" and "Joanie Loves Furbies". He did more films, some commercials, and some theater, but it wasn't enough, so he began his stand-up comedy career. Mark stands 6'7" and weighs in at 350 lb. — he's technically a giant; however, he is very weak and a wimp. In his routines, he weaves the story of his life as a bumbling, jolly giant in his fast-engaging, storytelling style. Mark has performed all over America and Canada. He is the ultimate chameleon, performing at clubs, colleges, hundreds of corporate shows, and even doing all-ages shows, touring with truTV's Michael Carbonaro. His special on Dry Bar Comedy has over 4.6 million views on YouTube. Mark has been compared to the likes of Jim Gaffigan and Louie Anderson.
OPENER: JOHN RUSSELL
Although the world is changing, John Russell refuses to. He’s been entertaining people, young and old, for almost 30 years and doesn’t want to stop. Whether it’s successful runs in regional and national radio as a host and voiceover guy, two starring roles in Midwest dinner theater, or making comedy club audiences laugh until they cry for the past 10 years across the U.S., John is self-deprecating, slightly angry, and highly likable. His ability to “hate stuff nicely” has earned him opening spots for some of the best in the business, including: Moshe Kasher, Josh Blue, Costaki Economopoulos, Gilbert Gottfried, and truTV’s Impractical Jokers. He recently appeared on “Pauly Shore Stands Alone” on Showtime.
