Warroad Elementary 5th Grade Music Concert

Hosted by the Warroad Elementary School Music Department

Join the Warroad Elementary 5th graders as they lift up their voices in a vibrant celebration of music and culture! This special performance showcases their talents on a variety of traditional African instruments, including xylophones, an array of drums, and gourds, alongside guest artist Sowah Mensah, originally from Ghana, Africa.

For the past seven years, this master drummer, composer, and internationally-recognized ethnomusicologist has partnered with the Elementary Music Department to bring the rich traditions of African music and culture to life in the classroom.

Now, after years of dedication, growth, and hard work, this performance stands as a finale to their elementary experience. It is both a celebration of all they have accomplished and a memorable send-off as they prepare to take their next steps into middle school.

Everyone is invited to this free event on Friday, May 8, at 7:00 pm.

Questions: Contact Warroad Elementary Music Teacher Christine Prusak at christine_prusak@warroadschools.org or 218-386-6020.
